About the Hansen Family The Hansen family is the heart and soul behind Big Rock Creek. Led by Matriarch and Patriarch Brad and Teresa Hansen, they bring their love for the outdoors to every aspect of the property. Their four children—Josh, Justin, Jeremy, and Becky—are all deeply involved in Big Rock Creek’s operations. Josh and his wife Kari have three kids: Bella, Madison, and Henry. Justin and his wife Alesia have three children: Oliver, Claire, and Layne. Jeremy is the proud dad of Paisley, Alivia, and Jett. Becky and her husband Jayson have four kids: Austin, Evelyn, Tucker, and Hank. As a family, the Hansens share a passion for the great outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. Their dedication to creating memorable outdoor experiences shines through at Big Rock Creek, making it a special place for families to enjoy together. About the Johnson Family The Johnson family—Troy, Vanessa, Autum, and Justus—also play a key role in the magic of Big Rock Creek. Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $100.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued. Grace period with free cancellation for 48 hours after booking if arrival is at least 7 days away at time of booking.
Rates vary by season, day of week, holidays, and special event weekends (including weddings and festivals on-site). Select weekends may have increased activity due to weddings or live events — please check our event calendar if you’re seeking a quieter stay. Additional rental experiences such as St. Croix River pontoon rentals, golf cart rentals, Polaris Ranger rentals, and fly rod rentals are available for an added fee. Saturday morning pancake breakfast is complimentary with the purchase of a drink. The cast iron pan is available upon request at check-in. Pool opening Summer 2026 (not currently available). We encourage guests to book early for peak summer dates, fall color weekends, and ski season near Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain.
